Data on the percentage of 25 to 64 year olds in the UK with a postgraduate degree from 2014 to 2025.
Summary main findings
From 2014 to 2025, the percentage of 25 to 64 year olds in the UK who had a postgraduate degree went up from 9% to 17%.
In the period from 2014 to 2025 combined, out of 41 UK regions:
- West Inner London had the highest percentage of 25 to 64 year olds with a postgraduate degree (32.0%), followed by East Inner London (26.0%)
- Southern Scotland (7.0%) and Lincolnshire (7.2%) had the lowest percentages

41 regions in the UK are ranked from the lowest to highest values. They are then divided into 5 equally-sized groups (‘quintiles’), from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest).
